Aims and Objectives
The primary aim of the Department of Information Technology is to provide robust, secure, and user-friendly technology services that support the University’s academic mission and administrative functions. The department seeks to ensure uninterrupted availability of IT systems, safeguard institutional data, and promote the effective use of technology across all departments. It aims to enhance digital transformation, improve system efficiency, maintain data integrity and confidentiality, and provide timely technical support to students, faculty, and staff while aligning IT services with the University’s strategic goals.
Responsibilities
The Department of Information Technology is responsible for the design, development, operation, and maintenance of all University-wide information systems, including the admission portal, student portal, learning management systems, human resource systems, finance systems, and the integrated University Management System. It manages the University’s data centers, servers, databases, official email systems, and institutional websites, ensuring system availability, performance, and reliability. The department oversees campus-wide network infrastructure, including wired and wireless internet (Wi-Fi), and ensures secure and uninterrupted connectivity across classrooms, offices, hostels, and common areas. The IT Department is also responsible for managing and maintaining digital classroom infrastructure such as smart boards, projectors, learning technologies, and audio-visual systems to support effective teaching and learning. It supervises surveillance and security systems, including CCTV monitoring and access control systems, to ensure campus safety. Data protection, cybersecurity, backup management, disaster recovery planning, and protection of sensitive academic, administrative, and personal information fall under the department’s core responsibilities. Additionally, the department provides technical support, system training, and troubleshooting services, while continuously upgrading hardware, software, and security measures to meet evolving technological and institutional requirements.
